Robert C. Heaney, Esq. has specialized in Social Security Disability law his entire legal career. Since graduating from New England School of Law, Robert has successfully handled hundreds of Social Security Disability claims. Robert has appeared at Social Security hearings throughout the United States – from Massachusetts to California, Wisconsin to Texas, and everywhere in between.
Prior to forming Heaney Disability Law, Robert worked for two large organizations and specialized in Social Security Disability Law. While at the Law Office of Iannella & Mummolo, Robert served as a national Social Security Attorney-Representative and appeared at hearings in more than 30 states.
Robert later worked at GENEX Services Inc. as the Social Security Attorney-Representative for the New England region. He has represented clients at all stages of the benefits process, from filing the initial application, to representing clients at hearings, and filing appeals.
Robert is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, and the Massachusetts Bar Association Law Practice Management Section Counsel. Robert is a trained mediator in accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 233 section 23C. While in law school, Robert was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Mediation and named the Most Promising Mediator by C. Michele Dorsey, Esq.
Robert received his Juris Doctorate from New England School of Law where he served as the Vice President of the Student Bar Association as well as the Athletic Committee Chairman. He also studied health law at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.
Robert is a Cum Laude graduate from the University of Scranton where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. He also studied at the University of Wollongong in New South Wales, Australia.
Robert graduated with honors from Regis High School in New York City.
Robert is the son of working class parents. His first experience with the Social Security Disability process occurred while watching his own father apply for benefits after years of physical labor left him incapable of working. This experience spearheaded Robert’s lifelong dedication to helping others attain Social Security Disability benefits.
